This may be our swan song.
What does swan song mean?
There is a legend which says that swans before they die sing a song.
When you do something for the last time you can say, “This is my swan song.”
Let’s go out with a bang and not a whimper.
If you are a Catholic, what you do you do with Jesus.
What Jesus does is of infinite worth.
So what you do is of infinite worth.
Why wasting your time fooling around?
Get to the church and kneel down.
Go to confession.
Confess your sins. Do penance.
Begin a new life and turn over a new leaf.
Don’t dilly-dally.
Don’t waste a minute.
Life is slipping by.
You are getting closer and closer to the grave.
You are getting closer and closer to the time when you will be either in the heaven or in the hell.
It will be eternal misery or eternal pleasure.
Let’s talk about the Pharisee.
What is a Pharisee?
A Pharisee is somebody who follows the letter of the law but not the spirit of the law.
He is a hypocrite.
He is putting on a show for other people to see, but not living for God.
He is a fool.
Let’s not be a Pharisee
Because the Pharisees knew the Bible very well but when Jesus came they didn’t follow him.
Why?
Because their spiritual eyes were blind.
They were bound to tradition.
Let’s be honest.
Today in Taiwan, we are the same.
We say that we have Budha, we have Yi-Jing, we have the Daoism, we have five thousand years of tradition, we don’t need this crazy Jewish foreigner telling us what to do.
Go home and leave us alone.
That’s what we say in our hearts.
We say we are not prejudiced.
If we are not prejudiced why didn’t we go to the nearest church and investigate?
Because we are too proud.
I have my tradition why should I go there?
Anyway, I’m too busy.
I have no time.
Where does my time come from?
My time comes from God.
God gave me 80 years and no more.
That’s it, boy.
