Softtek Asia with Expansion of Global Delivery Center in China

MONTERREY, Mexico & BEIJING — Softtek, a global provider of IT and business process solutions and the largest private IT service provider in Latin America, announced today the introduction of Softtek Asia with an expansion of its Global Delivery Center (GDC) in Beijing, China. Softtek Asia will begin operating as "Softtek Asia, formerly I.T. UNITED" through the third quarter of 2008, after which it will be referred to as "Softtek Asia." This rebranding effort marks the second phase in the acquisition of I.T. UNITED, completed in August 2007. The company was operating under the name, "I.T. UNITED, a Softtek Company" since the acquisition.

The expansion will further boost Softtek's capabilities to serve the global needs of its clients through its trademarked Global Nearshore model. The expanded GDC features state-of-the-art access control and telecommunication infrastructure, including biometric identification devices, 24/7 on-site surveillance, triple redundant internet links, and isolated network segments per client. The GDC has a capacity for an additional 150 positions. Softtek Asia currently has operations in Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen and Xi'an. On the whole, the company aims to add 200 new associates across China by the end of this year and also plans to open a second GDC in the country, in a location that is currently under evaluation.

"We are very proud to announce the introduction of Softtek Asia because it signifies the successful integration of the two companies," said Blanca Trevino, president & CEO of Softtek. "China continues to represent a huge and strategic market for our clients, and with the expansion of our Beijing facility, we are well positioned to bring value by combining the outstanding customer experience of our Near Shore model with a robust network of global resources."

Since the acquisition, Softtek and I.T. UNITED have successfully completed the integration of back-office operations and process standardization for Capability Maturity Model(R) Integration (CMMI) Level 5 compliance, in addition to go-to market capabilities in areas such as sales and business development.

"Since the joining of these two teams, we continue to receive great enthusiasm from our customers," said Cyrill Eltschinger, founder of I.T. UNITED, who will now act as executive vice president of Softtek Asia and CEO of Softtek China. "Our clients are increasingly looking for ways to take advantage of a strong network of multi-sourcing alternatives, and our Global Nearshore model offers a compelling solution in terms of quality, scalability and cost competitiveness."

As part of the launch for Softtek Asia, the company held an opening ceremony in its Beijing office on January 24, 2008. The ceremony was presided over by Softtek President & CEO Blanca Trevino. Eltschinger also celebrated the China launch of his book, "Source Code China, The New Global HUB of IT Outsourcing," which provides an inside look at China's booming outsourcing industry.

AdvertisementSofttek acquired I.T. UNITED in August 2007 and added the eighth GDC to its network of centers in Mexico, Brazil and Spain. Softtek has gained a strong reputation in the IT & BPO global sourcing industry though its trademarked Global Nearshore model, which pairs world-class execution with global proximity to fill the gap left by India-centric outsourcing models.
